Hello, I am new here and I received a pacemaker on the 6th of May. My implant site is not infected but it is rock hard and swollen the size of a golf ball still. I ice it a lot I am told it is a little longer than expected but not to worry. How long has the swelling been with most here?

Had my pm surgery March 14 and just this week swelling is totally gone. So....nothing's ng to worry about. Doc told me it is perfectly normal. Good luck! ð

I had a pm implanted this past Feb. In march, I called to ask if I had any restrictions and ep said no. I started to do regular things lifting ,pulling ,etc. but still hard around pm like yours. So one hot day I decided to take a swim in the Pacific ocean for about an hour . Treading water and small kind swimming around.
The next night I felt for that hardness around the pm and it was gone. I was relieved and hasn't returned since. I think that certain arm motions helps and will take it away.Good luck.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
heat

If ice isn't helping, have you tried heat? If it's fluid build up, heat can help it go away. Be super diligent for signs of infection.
