pain under armpit

I had a box change last week. Yesterday my arm was very sore , sharp stabbing pain under my arm and there is a lump.
I think it might be sore as I have not used the arm much .
Also the wound is itchy and sore and the doctor used glue which is now coming off .
Has anyone else been through similar conditions .
Thanks Natalie

It's probably nothing to worry about

I went in for my 3rd pacemaker one week ago. I have also been experiencing soreness in my arm and armpit. I can normally feel my pacemaker under my armpit, so I'm sure my discomfort is due to the replacement surgery. I've been trying to use my arm as much as possible, but it gets sore when I overdo it. I guess we need to remember that we did just get cut open, right?

I also have some itching that I think is just part of the healing process. If your incision looks ok, then you are probably fine. If the incision doesn't look right, is leaking fluid, or smells, you should call your doctor.

Thanks Barnet38.
The pain has subsided a little, I contacted the pacemaker clinic and they were not too concerned, I have moved my arm a little more, but you are right, we have been cut open.
I now have a little cough, but looking at other posts suggests that this is common after procedure.
The pacemaker box is really protruding so I will have to be careful of what I wear now.
Best of luck with your arm.

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.
