Since going into the '3 months' phase in which the pacemaker conserves the battery by only pacing 1 chamber, I've a lot less 'zip' than before.
I get a new pacemaker next week -- will I recover my previous energy level immediately or will it take a while?
thanks

Guy sits next to me in church. Got his replaced a couple of months back. He wasn't pacing in the ventricle and was dragging. They implanted the new one and he went grocery shopping on the way home. "Shouldn't have done that.", he said. So it's an immediate change.
Hope everything goes well for you.
thanks!

I appreciate your input. I'm looking forward to having more 'zip' on Friday (maybe even Thursday afternoon!).
Thanks
Dennis

Good luck
See my posting on this.
Mine went into failure with replacement due and on 12-week checks, due to become 8-week.
Failure was scary and the only symptoms were muscle spasm.
What should have been a planned, scheduled admission through the cardiac department door, turned into a gruelling emergency admission through the A&E door.
Good job they a new one on the shelf and could fit me onto the next day theatre list.
4-days later, feeling bruised and battered, but well on the way back to normal life again.

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
probably immediate!

Depending how you pace, your rate might not be going up at all on exertion now. When it changes mode, it paces at a steady rate and we lose all the extra bells and whistles. You should feel your old self as soon as you get your new one.
