Cold feeling in chest

I wake up between 2 and 3 in the morning for the past 4 weeks after getting a new pacemaker with a feeling of cold almost liquidy feeling in the middle of my chest. My heart rate will be fast. After a bit it slows down and stops with the cold feeling. I did not have this with the first one. Any ideas?

Self check?

by Theknotguy - 2015-11-17 02:11:13

The only thing I can think of is a PM self check. What time is it scheduled? Mine, for some odd reason, is set to go off at 12:20 AM. Sometimes it'll wake me up,but since it goes off at the same time I know what it is. Any other programs on your PM scheduled to run?

You can call your PM tech and get an answer.

increased heart rate at night

It sounds to me that you have a cardiac arrhythmia at night. Sometimes these come and go when you are asleep ( unknown to me my heart was stopping at night as my arrhythmias changed- hence my pacemaker).

I would suggest you seek a cardiological opinion as you may need to have overnight monitoring of one sort or another to sort it out.

Kind regards,
Selwyn

thanks for the ideas

I went back to the technician - didn't get to see dr. They couldn't figure out why it is doing this. It wasn't the self check because they ran one while there to see if it would cause the issue. They made a change in activity but have no clue. It has stopped being cold but I am still waking up with the faster beats (never above 85 though). I am having SVTs in the night but they are not concerned because they are short.
