I just had my pacemaker put in about 5 weeks ago after being diagnosed with bradycardia. Last night I had slight pain on the middle right side of my chest. It didn't hurt but it was just there and finally went away this morning. I am new to this and not sure if this is something to freak out about and call the dr every time I feel that or if it's just part of the process. Also every now and again I feel a sharp pain in the pacemaker area. The Medtronic girl I saw yesterday said she has had some people complain about that.

Thank you so much for the feedback!! It's comforting to know I can come here with all my questions and get answers.
On the other hand

Within the first couple of weeks after my PM I started to have pains in the middle of my chest on the right side.
At first they were hardly noticeable and lasted only a second or two.I was told they were nothing, and not to worry, so I didn't. But over the next two years they became worse in intensity and frequency although they never lasted more than seconds--a minute at the most.
My cardio clearly thought I was a head case, since she could find no "cause." The PM was interrogated repeatedly and I was told it was working fine.
After two years, the pain was severe enough to bring me to my knees, literally, and each episode left me exhausted. I went to Duke Hospital where Pacemaker Mediated Tachycardia was diagnosed. They simply turned off the lead to the ventricle. Problem solved.
I don't want to alarm you. The pain probably is nothing. There are all sorts of weird, transient sensations in the chest after a PM. But if it persists, go back to your Dr, and if you aren't paid attention to, go somewhere else. Just because your PM is "working fine" doesn't mean the PM SETTINGS are right for you.
Hope the pain goes away and never comes back.

You get all sorts of thumps and bumps within the first few months of getting the PM. If the pain didn't incapacitate you or didn't last for a long time it probably wasn't anything serious.
Hope everything else is going well for you.
