I have a pilates machine and they added a pull up bar you can add. I would be lying down on the pilates machine and pulling up with my arms. The impact is only power cords for resistance. Does anyone use pull up bars ?

Yea it looks good to add to my reformer to help the arms besides weights on my off days. Wow ...I never saw that interesting move with the sitting position ! Strong arms !

I've never used a pilates machine, but I use the pull up bar at the gym all the time for pull ups, toes to bar, sometimes we hang in a sitting position. My dr said it was fine and I've never had a problem.
Gymnastic Rings

Another option is to use gymnastic rings for pull-ups. Some of the Crossfit work outs I do have "chest to bar pull-ups" which would be a bad idea so I use the rings to get full range of motion with worries. The big downside is that they seem much more difficult than a regular pull up bar!

I don't have them, but I feel like I should after doing the hanging L-sits :) It's all grip and abs, not much arms.
