Preventing Bad Scarring

My incision from the implant has completely healed and the steri strips have fell off. I have been putting essential oils on the incision to prevent bad scarring. I have used this on other incisions and it has worked great. I was concerned about the pacemaker being just beneath if the oils that are absorbed by the skin could damage the pacemaker. Does anyone know?

Bad Scarring

Thank you AngrySparrow. I'm always careful about adding certain oils to a carrier oil and not putting them directly on the skin. It is good to hear your assuring words. Thank you again, I appreciate it.

Oil

My cardiologist said that I can use Bio-oil on the scar and I have bought another cream which had helped to fade an abdominal scar in 1998, but this little scar seems to be more stubborn and I am not very impressed with my efforts , so I'll have to see how the healing goes as time goes by.... I would like to have no scar visible of course!!! However, apparently because I am thin, pacemaker is VERY visible in any case.... fortunately ALL my clothes, even sleeveless, cover the PM completely!

Let me know if you find anything that helps the scar to fade in a better way!

Thanks and good luck..... I am 3 months post PM.

It's titamium

It's made of titamium, so I don't think oils will do any harm. I think it would be pretty intolerable on your skin, if it could do harm to the PM. So, if it feels good on the incision, I think you can feel safe about putting it on.
