several pvc's

went to heart doc he said no a fibs all yr but several epoisides of some big name I asked do you mean palpitations he said yes.ive had my pacemaker boston scientific for 3 years..i had a heart attack in 2000 and a stint put in. on arterty has a U and they couldn't fix it..in 2004 I started a fibs and had a ablation. then in 2006 a fibs again and another ablation. then 2012 a fibs again another ablation.. a month later I was back in a fib. the doc installed a pace maker single lead. it was set at 60 beats..I was gasping for air climbing the stairs at home. the next app I had him set it at 70 beats..I still have a lot of palpitations, heart will beat about 4 times then skip a beat, but o2 finger probe doesn't show any missing beats.i have diabetes and copd, when I use the nebulizer with ipratropium bromide/alburterol my palpitations are worse.im 75 any way to prevent these palpitations?...Dusty

It is not unusual for a pattern of 4 regular beats to be followed by a PVC. MOF, there is a name for it - I think. When the PVC alternates w/ a normal beat, it's called a Bigeminy, two normal & a PVC is a Trigeminy; three normal & a PVC is a Quadrigrminy; that makes the 4 & 1 pattern either a quint or a pemtageminy. But that is pure semantics.

The reason your O2 probe shows no missing beat is because it really is there. It's just early & very wimpy & you don't sense it, but the Oxymeter does.

I have a lot of PVC & have for over 7 years. The solution my EP used is a pair orf Meds - Acebutolo (a Beta Blocker) & Flecainide (An anti-arrhythmic) plus my PM. the Beta Blocker slows my heart & lowers BP; the Flecainide kills MOST of the PVC's, but not all of them. I still have them about 2 every three minutes.l That's not bad at all, I do not even notice them any longer.

BTW: I'm 79 & have hosted a PM since Feb 2003. It's my best buddy.
