Today I've had another pacemaker checkup. The PM specialist raised my max HR to 160 and my tracking rate to 170. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem I am encountering; I'm still not able to exercise because my heart rate drops to my resting rate (70+20 bpm) after 10 minutes and won't go up again no matter what I do. I go out of breath and my legs become very heavy.
Has anybody had this problem too?

Hi!
I never had it drop that low, but mine dropped from 160 down to around 120-130 at first while still running, and after some adjustments still drops to 140.
How's your CLS response set (nominal is medium)? I had mine changed from medium to high.
I also had a setting changed that's in the advanced settings which only the tech from Biotronik can enter. It's supposed to allow the sensor to spend a longer period of time at the upper rate limit. That helped to stop the drops down to 120, but it's still dropping to around 140; but now it does go up again, if I run faster.
I have my tracking rate at 200 and my 2:1 Wenckebach rate at 190. Maybe your Wenckebach rate needs to be changed? When I hit my Wenckebach point, the rate would drop from 190 down to 95. Never experienced this since I'm fully dependent on the rate response sensor (my sinus node and AV-node were ablated).
Good luck!

Just because you have a device doesn't mean you are damaged goods and can't do anything worthwhile and have to lie down and die. In fact, you're better and stronger. You're bionic!
Sensor high / I-Opt

Thanks for your comment!
My sensor is set to high too. My heart rate is not near the 160 before it drops (130-150). My AV delay is fixed at 280. My AV node is a little delayed if my heart rate is low but is very slow with higher rates.
In my next visit I'm going to ask the PM technician if he will change my AV delay to the I-Opt setting. Maybe that will help.
I so hope this can be fixed...
