I was coughing for 1 month (bad virus). I felt alittle better so decided to workout doing standing abs with weights and aerobics raising arms. Well went to doc for ribs hurting. Determine to have intercoastal muscle strain. Does anyone know how long it takes or any experiences ? I just started to feel great about working out !

I've lighted weights for 22 yrs but I am going slow it's my 4th week I feel very good Dr. checked all is well. I will get on the treadmill do light biceps triceps stomach etc. yes it's very easy to do hard lifts but can no longer do those therefore its light easy for shape. Considering swimming options. You have time go easy.
Good advice

The go slow advice is good. The intercostals can take a while to fully heal. Think of how long you had that cough. It will heal though - hang in there.
Might be a good time to work on the legs :-)

One week has passed and I must admit that each day I feel a little stronger.
Thanks ...

Yea, I tend to overdo and many injuries later. Also, I am a bad when it comes to stretching in general. I was just at PT for tendonious for foot, learning to stretch for that. Then I get shin splints ...anyway I think getting a pacemaker is easier ! Do you know what stretching for intercoastal ? I am pretty beat up with this injury, I have a pain patch now and hurts when getting up out of bed. I am going on the treadmill and not pump my arms to the extreme as I usually do. Wish me good luck.
