I have a fib my rest heart rate use to be in the 60's now my Dr has it set at 80. I really didn't get talk to her after. Does anyone know why she would set it that high. Now when I'm just walking around it goes in the 100's

I think the idea is that by setting the rate a bit hi you can somewhat suppress the afib.

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.

I also have A fib since I got my DRT-D and I have the same problem. I am set at 80, but my heartrate does go up with activity - especially in the evening. I am going to ask my EP at the next visit if this is a normal thing.
