3 Weeks Since PM

Three weeks now since my PM implant. I had a lot of mucus and PND issues that still continue but are much milder. I expected to have more energy but do not. For a while I wasn't doing much exercise. Since my PM I started walking I started slowly and got up to a half a mile but was so exhausted afterwards I could not do much the rest of the day. BTW, I am 72. I seems the best I can do is to walk about a quarter to a third of a mile. I read several posts from people with similar issues.
Since I got the PM I have not seen the doctor. I went back once for a check up and saw a RN who scanned my PM. My bandages were still on and no one checked the surgery cite. My next appointment is late September with the same RN. No doctor. Maybe Medicare quit paying them.
I was hoping for more but maybe will need to settle for what I got. Or perhaps I need to give it more time.

Dave,
I was assigned my current cardiologist while hospitalized for afib. They are the only one in the area and the worst medical group I have ever dealt with. I will be looking for a new cardio even if it means some travel.
Sleeping

Thanks for your post.
I noticed you mentioned sleeping was a royal pain. I can only sleep on my right side. I am a side sleeper anyway but used both sides. Now when I lay on my left side I have an air hunger sensation and can't tolerate that position very long.
I am fortunate to be able to most of what I need to do done.
However I would like to get back to walking. After three weeks I thought I could do better than a quarter mile. Of course it is humid right now so when it cools down and the humidity goes down I might do better.

Don't settle

I don't think that you should settle for what you got! No, your cardiologist should have followed-up with you after the implant to see how you are doing. Obviously, there may be a need for adjustments based upon your level of exercise and how you are feeling, as well as what he sees on the EKG. It makes no difference if you are on medicare or not. You deserve much more than what you received. So either call your doctor's office and explain that you'll want to see the doctor when you come in next (even if just to ask him questions, it isn't too much to ask) or find a new doctor that has time for you. You need to be your strongest advocate. As far as your stamina, I think you need to give it some time. Also, some tweeking of the PM may be necessary. Improvement is likely to be very gradual.
I wish you the best, and keep us posted!
Sincerely,
Dave
