Hi

Hi so I've had a dual chambered pacemaker since the age of 15. I had a ross/konno procedure done and they were too aggressive and caused me to get the pacer. My question is, My battery has finally ran out. And I can not afford a new device change. So what is going to happen? They are trying to rush me into getting a new device but I cant put myself in debt for it. I would just like to know if I can get by for now?

You "feel ok" because the device is still working. With Ross/Konno complications, I am assuming that you have heart block now? When that Battery goes out, you're going to have a bad day if that is the case.

Look into the hospitals in your surrounding area, the cost of surgery varies GREATLY from facility to facility. You might save $1000 by going a mile down the road. The data is easily accessible online by doing a quick google search. We need to know more about why you have the pacemaker to give you better advice, but to me I am assuming you need to get this done based on the little information you have provided.

You know you're wired when...

You can finally prove that you have a heart.
