First year check ups

How often is a pm checked the first year? I know it probably isn't the same for every one but I just wanted to get an idea of what is the average.
My pacemaker was put in Jan. 10th, emergency, out of town. We went back a week later and bandage was removed and pm read. He said everything was working as it should and he would see me in 3 months after everything healed and the swelling settled down. I told him I was going to find a doctor closer to home. He understood. (His nurse even called last month to make sure I had a 3 month follow up appointment scheduled). I told her I did.
Feb. 5th went to new doctor for meet/greet appointment and he had the nurse do a pacemaker check for his records. It was working 97%of the time. He said he would see me in 3 months. He said it would be okay to go on our trip. We did and I ended up being airlifted to hospital. Same symtems which sent me to hospital first time. The pm was checked again. I know it couldn't be predicted. Anyway last Monday I went in for my three month check and he went over the Feb. 5th pm check. He showed and explained a graph. He answered my questions. He didn't mention the results of the pm check done in the emergency room on our vacation other than a blood clot was suspected and they said I was dehydrated (I wasn't when I went in). He didn't do a pm check or even listen to my heart. Is this a normal check? Maybe I was expecting too much.

Thank you for the reply busrider. I realize we really can't compare doctors with complete accuracy but I thought there might be a basic guideline. This is still so new. I wish I personally knew someone to talk to but no one in my family or circle of friends has one or any heart problems. I think they kind of look at me as...it my age, old people have heart problems. After reading the post about a week ago about sleep apnea I am wondering if that caused my problems. I was diagnosed more than a year agas having sleep apnea after a sleep study and a Cpap was recommended but never followed though with getting one.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
