Weights and Kettle balls

I got my pacemaker 2 weeks ago and was wondering if I will eventually be able to lift weights again

Follow your doctor's instructions as to when you can go back to normal activity. You should let your leads and implant site heal so you don't dislodge something. Your implant site will tell you when you have had enough. I do all sorts of lifting and arm activity, including barbells, but I pay attention to what my left shoulder is telling me. Just start low and slow and it will get back better than you think.

should be fine

You didn't fill out your profile so I can't tell how old you are or why you have the pm, but if you are otherwise healthy and cleared for activity, you should be able to do whatever you want. I do both kb and barbells as do quite a few other members. The exception is if your device or leads are close enough to the surface and placed such that you might hit them with the bar. If that's the case, you can still lift but you'll need to be careful not to pinch the leads.

Thanks for the comments. I'm so glad to have found this forum. I've been in a great diabetic support group for years and this is what I was looking for to help me cope with my pacemaker.

Without a doubt

Definitely follow doc's instructions....I've had my PM for 9 months and as soon as I got the ok, I started with 3 pounds and worked my way up to 10 with free weights and the machines for arms and shoulders I push 50 poounds. I'm just toning and I'm 55 yrs old.

Good luck!!!!
