I posted last week with questions about my upcoming 4 week check up...with the tech...you were right...he said all was working great and that was it...when I told him I was still having exactly the same symptoms I was having before the PM ( the feeling that I am going to pass out) and I'm having them just as frequently, he seemed to dismiss it. and said it wasn't showing up...I asked if I shouldn't be seeing the EP sooner than 4 months if I'm having problems, so he took me to the nurse and got me an appointment in two weeks.

I am feeling very frustrated and like I got the PM for nothing.. I wasn't feeling tired and was doing vigorous activity several times a week before the PM and am still doing the same, with the same symptoms...is it time for a second opinion?

Time to Get Pushy

FYI, I talk a big game but I have a really hard time being pushy.

HOWEVER, I would call first thing in the morning and say that you're feeling lousy and need to be seen TODAY. You need an adjustment by someone that really knows what they're doing. Don't feel guilty about it; YOU are paying THEM. Everyone is busy but you're going to end up in the ER (which is a place they love to send all newbies) if they don't take a look - RIGHT AWAY.

Let me know if you succeed in getting the appointment!

Thanks to all of you for your support and suggestions. I have not made that phone call yet, but had a busy weekend and clogging and golf yesterday and today...:)

I got the PM because I was having the lightheaded spells and they had ruled everything else out and said my heart was skipping beats and then having trouble catching up...so, when I say the symptoms are the same and the tech says the PM is working fine...I am frustrated. The spells only last a few seconds and I wonder if they are so short, the pacer doesn't have a chance to respond before it's over?

I still have an appt. with the EP next week. Maybe I'm just impatient.

Adjustment may be needed

The fact that you were able to do vigorous activity several times a week is a good sign that you may just need an adjustment on the settings for you. Settings on a pacemaker are not one size fits all.

Why did you need a pacemaker?

The light headedness you are experiencing could be caused by something else and not the pacemaker.
Dehydration after exercise or medications you may be taking. can cause feeling faint.

Demand to be seen by either another Tech and/or your EP. You should be feeling better, not the same unless tiredness is being caused by something else.

Have a talk with Dr and demand answers....it's your body, your life!

Good luck

I've said it before and I'll say it again

"Your pacemaker is working fine" in my opinion is a non-answer.
Just because your pacemaker is defect free does not mean your pacemaker's SETTINGS are right for you.
