Bruising

I recently had a pacemaker interrogation and two days later noticed a large bruise right over the PM site. I can't find any information about this and am wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I also take warfarin

...go have an INR done right now. That shoud not cause a bruise, but if your INR is too high, all bets are off.

Just checking the pm should not cause bruising but if you are on warfarin, who knows. I would ask them to look at it.

None of the interrogations I have received have ever been more than placing the wand over the site. Are you sure you didn't bump it unknowingly? Warfarin make you susceptible to bruising especially if you INR is high. When I was on warfarin for many years, I could tell when the INR was high because I would bruise from any bump, bleed easily and I would get light-headed and spacey (more spacey than normal, as my wife would say). After going to Pradaxa and now on Xarelto, it is none of the above. There is no way I would go back to warfarin.

I agree with the others above. Get checked out, starting with an INR test.

Thanks for all the advice!

Thank You to everyone who posted on my problem! I am taking your advice and going to get an inr done. I have contacted my heart specialist and they have never heard of such a thing. The bruise is almost gone now and no I did not bump it. I will let you all know if my primary doctor has a clue.
THANKS AGAIN!!

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
