Hello, Had my device put in 1 week ago. I live in Ct. and have an 800' driveway.2 days after Surgery had to plow the driveway on my tractor, use a snow-blower to clear around house and paths to wood shed and pump house ( twice in said week !!) all without putting hand over head. No bad feedback from my Latitude Monitor. Think I can go to " Y " for some cardio and sit-ups? I went from 35 BPM to 61 with device so feel real good. Wound is sore but looks good. Anybody else out there like me? I want to LIVE my life.

I'm so sick of shovelling! I'm impressed at you using a snowblower so quickly - good for you! As long as you're not pulling the leads, for the first few weeks, I'd say do whatever you feel like! (I'm in the queue for having you come and do my driveway too . . .)
Great attitude!
Going to the Y

I was told not to lift more than 5 lbs, (with arm on pacemaker side) for 6 wks and then only 25 lbs. Also, to not lift arm above shoulder for 6 wks. So, you might want to check with Cardiologist before working out. Glad you are doing so well.

You are the type of person I love to hate, ie wish it was me,. However I am better than others. So good to hear a text book or typical web page recovery - long may it continue. Just remember not to go too mad.
Enjoy.

You gotta get out there and keep moving. If you sit, you're dead.
While you probably pushed it a little, it's nice to know you can do it. Just don't push it so far you end up breaking open the PM pocket wound.
Post healing- usually the 4-6 week period - it's nice to know things can get pretty much back to normal. Just keep moving, doing what you need, without trying to pull the leads.
At the one year mark I was doing about 99.999% of what I was doing pre-PM. Felt a lot better as the PM was making sure my heart was keeping up with the exercise. Amazing what a good blood supply to your body can do.
Check my posting where I forgot about my PM while working in the woodshop. Biggest trouble I've had with my PM in the woodshop was when I forgot about the PM and grabbed a Sawzall saw with my left arm. Completely forgot about the accelerometer in the PM and the vibration kicked the PM into overdrive. What a rush!
I've found I need to drink more water post PM. But that may have more to do with the meds I'm on. Otherwise I can carry on as normal before the PM.
Hope things continue to go well for you.

...checked your age.
At 65+ yrs old, it's time to watch the heavy exercise in cold temps. Sidewalks are littered w/ people our age who have heart attacks doing what you are doing.
That's why God gave us teen agers.
Also, I'd say that you have the rest of your life to go to the gym for exercise. Take it easy for a couple more weeks, observing the restrictions that karuss12 mentioned in the previous comment.
A great, positive attitude is wonderful to have, but there are other constraints on life that go w/ age, & heavy work in cold temps is one of them.
I got my PM at your age, came home & the next day was busy at work building a house, using my wife as my left arm. - BUT, it was in north GA & the temps were NOT where they are in a good old Nor'easter snow storm.
BTW, I've lived north of the Arctic Circle like you - Milwaukee & Burlington, Iowa. I know what the temps feel like after a heavy snow & what it is like to exert myself in them - but I was only 40 at the time.
Very glad you are recovering as well as I did.
