Dizzy

Okay, I've had my pm in for 6 days now and although sore, I am getting around and moving and have felt fine. I got up from a chair a bit ago and felt a hard dizzy spell. Not close to the passing out as I was doing before the pm, but still scary. I just took some deep breaths and rested until it passed. Anyone else have these and do you think it's just part of the recovery process ? I was having some palpations at the same time, but they passed too.

Feeling better

Thank you for your reply. Only had the one spell thus far & I had just got up from a recliner. My BP was a bit elevated too. Lot of this recovery is nerve wrecking, but I am going to get through it.

according to my cardiologist. and depending what your low is set at and also RR, and some PM have Rate drop to protect from a quick drop in rate.

My low is 50 "getting up quickly may take a second or minute for your PM to detect activity and pick your rate up to (blood flow) to accommodate your moving body, therefor you get dizzy. I have a PM for SSS My rate was very low 90% of the time prior to PM. Now that they have played around with the settings only one dizzy spell in the last year for me. Or it could just be your body adjusting..

Hang in there

The sudden change from being a non-PM person to being one of the club members is shock enough. It takes a while for the body to adjust both to how the PM is going to manage your heart, and how your heart and body adjust to the new way of life.

For some people they seem to adjust quickly while others need to have things tweaked until they get it right. Some adjust right away while others need a while.

Question is if you'll have the dizzy feeling every time or is it just the adjustment to the new PM? If it happens again, I'd check with EP. For some PM's there is a rate control adjustment. I didn't need it but some do.

Welcome to the PM club.

In the meantime, hang in there.
