What shows up on PM check

Hello,
Have read some recent messages about AFib and pulsatile tinnitus. I am 4 weeks tomorrow post fitting of dual lead St Jude and still getting the feeling that my heart rate is going to fast 90/100 doing not a lot for up to 30minsand at night the tinnitus occurs when I turnover, also getting some diaphragm pacing. (there was mention of having to move a lead but my own cardiologist thought I would be ok.) At my last check up a week ago the was no evidence of arrhythmia but I felt plenty of fluttering raised HR. Can what you feel be missed by the PM capture, not sure when my next visit is yet. Trying to be positive and getting back to work and doing more walking but still feel as tired as pre op and so fed up of not getting a decent sleep. Any good tips?
PS UK people is it just me or is there a lack of support for PM patients, plenty for other heart problems but not us.
Thanks Jane x

I also have a dual lead St Jude and I'm 4 wks post op. I have the heartbeat in my ear when I turn over and high heart rate still. They tried to pace me at 100 at all times to wear out my natural pm to correct this but it didn't work. They now have me on Topral XL to slow my heart rate and it's working so far. They have me paced at 85/125 to try to wear it out still. I have arrhythmias all the time. I have some where i feel flutters and it feels like my chest is vibrating and they tell me it's fine and I'll get use to it. I don't want to get use to it! I feel like we're experiencing the same problems. Some nights I take something to help me fall asleep but then can't stay asleep. I'm so tired all the time...I wish I had answers for you but at least you know you're not alone in this. I hope you feel better soon...Let me know what your DR says and I'll do the same but i don't go back for a month...

Belly flop

Hi ttdavis22, I am sure we will be ok it is just so frustrating not feeling much better after having an OP that is meant to help.. Have you had the weird feeling of either diaphragm pacing or a kind of floppy feeling in your lower rib, not painful but not right. Have you had AV ablation? mine is damaged and gives me 2;1 heart block so not sure if this is causing arrhythmias etc or the PM settings . Will ask for my settings at next visit. A comment made by a few others is drinking more water for some reason pacing problems do seem to make you more dehydrated ??why.
Take care Jane x

Feelings

by ttdavis22 - 2015-03-18 12:03:13

I feel so much lately. I feel a floppy feeling quite a bit and like you said not painful just not right. I had a ton of ablations. He said I have so many different arrhythmias he couldn't ablate them all. They did the AV ablation and then couldn't get my heart rate out of the 20s so that's when they had my hubby sign for the pacemaker. Dr told me on Thursday they are going to try meds for a bit longer but will probably have to do a second ablation on my AV node. I just text him to tell him the arrhythmias have been really bad and he text me back to add another med. Ugh...I've been keep hydrated. They told me right away that you need to drink lots of stuff with electrolytes. They said water's good but tends to go in and right back out. I drink Vitamin water because of the electrolytes. I'll try anything to help. I stay clear of coffee and that's hard because I love Starbucks...I hope you're feeling better or at least getting answers...

You know you're wired when...

You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
