Moving Pacemaker

Hello, I have a pacemaker in bother m chest and stomach. The pacer in my stomach is inactive and has been for about ten years. When I sneeze sitting down, or stretch the wrong way the stomach pacer moves. It isn't unbearably painful, but today I stretched in class and the pacer moved, and I could feel pulsating for a time. I am having flutters in my chest, but I can't be sure if I am just anxious or if it is the pm. I don't feel nervous, but it could be that I just don't realize it???? I don't know, is it normal for a pacer to move this often--about once a fortnight? Also, is what I am feeling a normal reaction to that? I would prefer not to do a pm check.

Had Similar - Two Pacers!

I used to have two pacemakers too, one active or attached, one inactive. For myself, the old pacemaker was in my abdomen and floated down into my pelvic region. My pacemaker that was functioning was also in my abdomen though. I did not have any symptoms but when they checked it's battery life, it interfered with the read of my pacemaker that was connected to my heart. It did however cause any heart palpitation or anything like that. It was a minor surgery to remove it and I was out the same day. If the pacemaker isn't attached it I wouldn't think it'd be causing any problems as far as heart related but definitely get it checked out. The longer is stays, it could float like mine did and that is what could lead to more serious problems which is why mine was removed. Good luck.

Removal of inactive pacemaker

Have you asked to have the inactive pacemaker box removed?

My daughter had her abdominal pacemaker removed and the lead sealed about 6 months after having her first chest/shoulder implant. She had the surgery first thing in the morning and she was allowed to go home that evening. The recovery time for this was about two weeks until the wound healed.

She was able to feel the abdominal pacemaker more and it annoyed her more. My daughter was about 8 years old when she had it removed and her doctors agreed to remove as soon as the new pacemaker was settled and working well.

Not sure whether it is the same in all countries but the removal of the pacemaker was classified as cosmetic surgery rather than cardiac.
