You're five months in
by Theknotguy - 2015-04-10 08:04:44
You're about five months in with the PM. If you haven't done very much exercise before now you'll get all sorts of sensations when you start to exercise. The PM pocket heals tighter because there hasn't been stretching before now. Now you're stretching out the area and it causes all sorts of sensations.
I started lifting heavier stuff and it felt like the PM was a coin with sharp edges stuck in the pocket. Depending upon what I lifted, some days it would hurt more, other days less.
Cold compresses, warm compresses, tylenol, drinking more water and rest helped.
Hope you continue to feel better.
Ant Bites

That's what I call it. It's part of the healing process. Some say it is the nerves knitting back together.
I never had it with the original implant but a few weeks after a lead revision it felt like I was getting bit. It was sharp, quick and it really hurt. They can last about 6-9 months after surgery. It comes and goes but it does stop.
Others have referred to it as getting stuck with a needle or pins like you said. Part of the new normal. lol

Me Too, and Living With It

I think it is the scar tissue, and whether a nerve got cut. I am 2 years into mine, it is in my left shoulder just below the collar bone, It will give me a sharp stinging every now and then, just so I don't forget it is there, I think. Heavy lifting, digging and tilling getting my garden ready hasn't bothered it lately, so it must be getting worn in.
Good Luck and Good Life, PJ.

Common Sensation
by Artist - 2015-04-10 08:04:25
That is a common sensation reported by many PM members as a feeling similar to ant bites. I had my implant in Nov., 2014 and still feel that sensation as I increase my activities, especially after lifting weights. The theory is that the sensation is caused by stretching the scar tissue/adhesions in the pocket area and the awaking/healing of nerves that may have been damaged or irritated during surgery. Some members recommend applying ice and others find heat useful in lessening the discomfort. The sensations and discomfort usually lessen with time. Artist
