My scars are red, swollen, and recently more painful
I had my dual lead pacer removed and an new one implanted in September. It didn't work . So in late September it was revised.
This is about the 8th time since 2006 going into the same scar and it's sore
Yes I lnow its been 3 months, but the pain is becoming in bearable. Today it feels warm.
It appears the one scar (I have 3) is becoming a keloid scar and it's the one that hurts the most. It is also the one they entered the most times over th years.
Any suggestions ?

Heat, redness and increased pain can be signs of infection. If it's keloid, there are treatments to make it more comfortable. Either way, you need to be seen asap. If they think it's infection, don't let them send you home with antibiotics without doing cultures. It can spread in the time it takes to see if the antibiotics are the right one, so it's best to be aggressive and find out right away what bacteria you're dealing with. I don't mean to be repetitive or alarm you, but if infection spreads or isn't gotten under control quickly, they sometimes have to remove everything so it's very important to be aggressive. Good luck!!
