October 14 had a St. Jude PM2240 installed in Las Vegas, NV. I was very active, walking and bicycling 5 or 6 days a week. Now I'm tired every afternoon. Occasional chest discomfort. I'm 71 years young. I want to get back on my Polaris rzr atv but not sure how soon I can go bouncing around out in the desert with wires in my hart. I get 0 returned calls from the Dr. They can't send a prescription to the pharmacy correctly. If I walk over 1/2 mile I get chest discomfort so I holding it down to 1/4 mile. Tuesday it will be 8 weeks since the install so I think the wires should be OK. Since my Dr. won't get back to me do you thing 8 weeks is enough heeling time?

Activity !!

Hi, I got my 1st implant at age 60 and stuck to the 8 week suggestion with limited activity. I am almost 83 and don't have enough sense to give myself enough time with limiting activity.
Problems I've been having as I got older was not developing good scar tissue to from a good pouch around each pacemaker. As a result I've had erosion having my implants moving around including infection.
This is not real common but a number of members have also had this problem. As I've used up both left & right chest areas for implant sites with 5 pacemakers over the years I finally had it resolved by having my 6th pacemaker implant in my lower right abdomen. As I'm a skinny person with no fat or muscle in my chest area, this was the major issue even with it under muscle as I also had #5 travel to my armpit.
So, now my local Cardiologist tells me I should have never had a chest implant. Not developing a good pouch with scar tissue was the major problem. I did get to use my 1st pacemaker till battery got used up. I have no limitations on activities with my belly implant & no comparison with comfort as I've can't even feel I have an implant.

Snowmobile

I had my PM put in during Nov and jumped on a snowmobile in January. Steering it caused enough severe discomfort in my arm and left chest where my PM resides that I did not ride anymore that winter. However, when spring came I was tearing around on an atv
You know you're wired when...
Bad hair days can be blamed on your device shorting out.

My doctor said 6 weeks so I'm thinking 8 would be great. I too have chest discomfort and heavy breathless feeling if I walk to far and or to fast, will be asking my new doctor on Tuesday.
