TOM TOM CARDIO warning ???

Hi,
The Tom Tom site says consult your GP before using the Cardio GPS device if, like us , you have a pacemaker fitted.

Is this them just covering there backs or is there an issue?

I understood it worked via a light sensor which I cannot see being a problem and am pretty sure my GP will not have a clue. (Although she has been brilliant in every other way.)

I've just asked for one as a birthday present and am wondering?

Thanks nick

It's just something to keep your lawyers (solicitors) in business. I use mine quite frequently plus the one on my phone with absolutely no problems.

It's a cya world, most of the warnings aimed at us are not based in fact. The only thing we really need to avoid is large magnets closer than 6" to our device and things that put a current through the body, like scales that calculate body fat or muscle stim at a therapist. Anything else is safe. The GPS will not affect your device. It is possible your device will keep the heart rate monitor from working accurately. Try before you buy.

Many Thanks

Many Thanks all.

My unit only kicks in for missed beats and to stop my heart beating to slowly….not an issue when I am running…so far.

Much Love Nick
