I had a dual lead pacemaker installed end of May. Surgery went well and I did well. Mid July I started with itching and hives over certain parts of my body. Went to my internist and he prescribed Allegra, benedral, etc. nothing is helping. Finally thought, "could I be allergies to pacemaker metal"..,I have no clue. Bumps, itches, etc, keep happening. Never had this before pacemaker insertion. Any thoughts from anyone.. Thank you

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
Hives and itching...

My husband got the hives and itching too; but
We finally had to change meds to determine proplem.
He also took Benadryl and Adair for asthma.
But once he started the process of med elimitation
and that was the heart meds the itching and hives went away. He has to take certain heart
meds so he had to find new ones he wasn't allergic
To. Good luck. He has a 3 lead CRT-D. His new meds are Carvedilo and Lisinopril.
Hope you find the problem.
