Have an ongoing sore neck on the PM side. Get spasms on the trapezius muscle on the same side as the PM often.

Talked to EP. He said no connection between PM and muscle. I never had the problem before getting the PM. So we're at odds.

I see a licensed massage therapist and she works on the trapezius muscle to get it to relax. What it feels like to me is there is some irritation where the leads go in under the clavicle. When my therapist grabs the muscle I can feel it all the way into the PM pocket. Her working on it has decreased the number of spasms. Per my EP, the PM isn't causing the problem.

I was having quite a few problems in the hospital because sitting in the elevated hospital bed gave me all sorts of neck problems. Used to take a small towel, roll it up, and put it behind my neck to make it stop hurting. So is that the reason for the ongoing spasms?

Like I said, massage therapist. Key words are licensed and therapist. She's concentrates on therapy, has found several trigger spots, has gotten them to relax, and I've felt a whole lot better. Don't need aspirin and tylenol for pain as much either.

Hope you can get some relief soon.

Were you out of it for the surgery? They are not always gentle with us. Also, we tend to sleep in odd positions the first few days, this is also hard on the neck. Tension doesn't help! I have neck issues from a car accident. First thing I do after every surgery is run to my chiropractor. Massage therapy is good too, but sometimes some advil with alternating heat and ice is all you need.
