Easiest Operation So Far!
by terrymac12345 - 2014-12-11 07:12:46
I had mine done three weeks ago tomorrow. It was so easy
that if I didn't see the slight bump I would have thought they forgot I was there!
I was home a little over 14 hours later since it was done at 10:30 at night.
Good luck! As in a previous post I got more accomplished today than in the many months pre Pacemaker days.
Good morning Tink89, how are you feeling!

Keep that arm below your shoulder but don't forget to move it. Use pillows (in my case a large stuffed bear) to support the arm when you lie down. Pamper yourself for a day or two, but welcome to the club!
And.....

Tink89 how are you? I hope that you are doing well and that all of your worry was for not. Ice ice baby, it will help for the swelling and the movement but also remember that a heating pad on your upper back is also a glorious feeling!
Best of luck! The first week is the worst and think about how great you probably already feel.
You guys were so right!!!

Hey you guys I want to thank you all so much for all your advice! You guys are super awesome! OK so let me tell you guys how everything went...So right after I got done posting the 1st message my doctor came upstairs and told me that they were unable to put me to sleep because the anesthesiologist had to go help someone downstairs. So instead they gave me a sedative to help me sleep and relax. It took about 3 hours but it felt like only 5 minutes lol. After that everything seemed to be OK until they took me upstairs to my room my whole chest was going up and down hard by itself like I had the hiccups or something I was so freaked out ! I was told by my nurse to relax and this was normal and this is why we have you stay overnight. I was shocked but happy when my doctor came in and fixed the problem in like 10 minutes with a lab top and some kind of thing he put right over my pacemaker! So after that everything was fine and the next morning I got a x ray and was on my way home!
My pain is not bad at all just like you guys said and I have been drinking nothing but cranberry juice and ice water. OK so I have a couple of questions and I hope you guys can answer these as well . #1 when I left the hospital my doctor only gave me tylenol three it was only 10 in a bottle and now I'm down to my last pill.he told me that a month ago he prescribe me some Norco and I should have two refills on those pills I went to Walgreens and the lady told me that I did not have any refills so I was wondering should I show the lady my papers that I got from the hospital or do I have to go and get a prescription from the doctor again?.# 2 I have been so so hot is that normal? #3 I wanted to know when would I be able to go and power walk I know the doctor said do not lift my arm up past my shoulder but I feel like I have a lot more energy and I want to go walking. #4 I have not been very hungry I make myself eat before I take my pain pill tho...just wanted to know if anyone felt the same thing?? OK thanks you guys again! Oh yeah the teddy bear as a arm pillow im doing it right now! Also Im about to make me a home made ice pack as soon as I get up lol
2 more things!

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.

I did not have as much pain as I thought I would and I had a small puncture in lung. Just ask for pain meds, you should be fine. Keep in touch.
