Itching

My EP said the pain and itching could last up to a year as the nerves heal. Once I learned this was normal and part of recovery I quit worrying about it. Around 11 months post implant the bee sting sensations settled down. Hang in there, you only have a few more months to go!

After a lead revision 3 years ago, my scar gets very itchy, tight and flares up..... anywhere from 4-7 times a month. It looks like a blister but there is no fluid in it. This never happened before the lead revision. It is very uncomfortable and lasts 2-5 hours and then calms down again. There is a photo in the Member Gallery when I was searching for answers. Nobody knows what it is or what causes it. It just flared up again 2 days ago, for the 4th time this month....very strange.
Obviously, this is not at all common and yours will probably ease up shortly.

Metal allergy

Negative Bossy, I haven't been checked. I actually got a Melisa allergy test kit a couple of years ago but didn't go ahead with it. I figured what if I am....then what. They would want to take it out and that's not gonna work out well for me.
One Doctor, a Dermatologist in NYC wanted to put a BIG needle with steroids right into the scar. I passed on that.
So I stick my head in the sand and just deal with it each time....part of my new normal. The Doctors aren't worried so I don't even mention it anymore. I think it is something with the new lead since it only started after the revision but I can't narrow it down....same metals and silicone but maybe different amounts of it compared to the older leads.....I dunno.
Good to see you back. Did you go away again?? lol

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.

Sorry, but I can honestly say it took more than a year for my scar to stop being itchy and painful. Hopefully yours wont take that long. I found good old fashioned sudocrem helped.
