Thanks everyone for posting your experiences with getting a pacemaker. I put off getting a pacemaker for 7 years when the doctors first found out my issues with high vagal tone. I can't put it off any longer now that I have a 10 month old at home. I'm going to the hospital in an hour to have the pacemaker put in. It has helped reading everyone's stories and has helped me to relax, a little.

Surviving PM

As Angry Sparrow says, you will survive and it will be better for you.
I however had a different experience. No pain and very little bruising around the insertion spot. I guess everyone is different. I got used to the PM quickly and it keeps my heart rate from dipping down into the low 30s while I sleep.
Good luck and let us know how it goes with yours.
