Knee replacement

if you need it, do it

As long as your cardiologist clears you for surgery, it's fine. Just make sure the anesthesiologist knows about it. They often like to have a pm rep there to change the mode during surgery then put it back after.

My grandpa had both knees done at age 90. He was the oldest the surgeon had ever done a replacement for but he was otherwise healthy and getting really cranky about not being able to get around and stay active. Rehab was tough but it was two years ago and he's still doing great.

replaced 6 wk's apart in 2003 & had the 1st PM put in late 2000. I was a bit younger than you but not much. I suffered for yr's & am so glad I did it. As TraceyE says just make sure every one knows about it. I was (& still am) on Coumadin at that time. So just another complication to think about :-)
