You will feel far less tired in the first week if you have your PM installed under a local anaesthetic rather than a general ( yes, it is that simple ! ) . I went on a 3 week holiday on day 7 and felt absolutely normal.
As Tracey says we are all different !
Best of luck
Ian

Like any other surgery, there is a recovery period. We all heal at different rates.
I also have SSS as well as a few other abbreviations.
You will most likely have many questions about your PM as time goes on. This is a great place to ask and learn.

i mysel just go my PM two months now , the first month just right after the surgery i was really tired and as time passed i felt strong and stronger so i found that i just had to let the time do his work .
so just be patient as your body is getting to be used with this PM
good luck

Thank you all, it really means a lot, this all happened so fast for me, and it is great to find some support of people who have been where I am and gone through similar situations. I know many questions will arise has time goes on and the shock wears off. Thank you all again for your response.:)

So glad you found us! I got my first one at 27, that was 20 years ago. Yes, it's normal to be tired for a while. We all heal differently. It's an easy surgery but it's still a surgery. Your body is processing the drugs you were given, it's getting used to being paced, it's recovering from who knows how long with a rate too low. Most of us are back to most of our normal schedule, just moving carefully and in slow motion, within a week or two. If you're tired, take a nap. Your body is healing, don't fight it.
I was the first in my family, too! My uncle got one a few years ago (different condition). I accused him of being a copycat, trying to be cool like me :)
