Hi,
I'm 26 and have a Medtronic pacemaker for complete heart block on no other medications etc or problems
I had my first pacemaker box change 14 days ago, after having my first for 10.5 years, all went well and feeling ok apart I have been having very strange sensation, middle of my chest by sternum it is a heavy / burning feeling. ( like if you've ran as fast as you can and stop your chest hurts and you pant- similar to that but not panting) has anyone else had anything like this at all . It's been going on few days seems to be more consistent, I'm going to give the pacing clinic a call tomorrow but thought Id ask if anyone else had experienced the same.
Thanks in advance.

Being on your second PM, you probably already know this, but I'm going to repeat it anyway.
"Your PM is working perfectly" does not mean the PM isn't in some way causing your symptoms.
My symptoms initially were very similar to yours. Pain under of slightly to the right of the sternum, and that run-very-hard, like my heart and lungs are close to bursting. Over time the pain got worse. I had PVC-induced Pacemaker Mediated Tachycardia (pacemaker syndrome) but it took two years to dx because countless interrogations of the PM didn't reveal it.
The techs would fiddle with the settings and I might feel better for a couple of weeks or a month, but it would always come back worse and a little different.
Here's my advice. Do anything you can to make the symptom happen while you are being interrogated. Instead of sitting in the waiting room, walk vigorously up and down until they call you--or whatever for you makes seems to make the symptom happen.
If the techs can see what the PM is doing when you have the feeling, they can better evaluate what's going on.
Good luck. Let us hear from you.

My symptoms are somewhat, but not totally, similar to yours. Before my PM and occasionally since, I have a strange sensation that runs UP the center of my chest. It starts a bit higher than the sternum and goes into my throat. It is NOT gastric reflux. I'm glad you're having your device interrogated tomorrow to make sure it's all OK. In the meantime, try to relax as you anticipate your appointment!
