Might not need pacemaker

Good news, might not need pacemaker. Pulse has gone up since i stopped taking opiate medicine, so my pulse has gone up to low 50's instead of the 30's. There keeping one more day to monitor me and then release me. I am really really relieved because i wasn't to thrilled about running around with a lump in my chest.

It's great that you might not need one! How do you feel in the 50's? That's still kind of low but considerably better than 30's.

Don't rush into thinking you're out of the woods just yet. And remember, nearly all of us on this site have an electronic companion. We would gladly welcome you into our ranks!

So glad you're apparently off the opiates, too.

That is why I am going to my doctor tomorrow and request a holter monitor. Now that I know that I am borderline, I am going to keep a eye on my heart pulse and just wait and see. I feel good. I haven't had any dizzy spells since I have stopped the medicine.

Maybe this was God's way of telling me to get off that medicine and start looking at a more healthy lifestyle.
Thanks for all your advice,

Sometimes bradycardia is really "just" medicine induced. That seems to be the case for you. If the holter now comes back normal, you should have no reason to continue to worry or have any further tests. And actually, there aren't more tests you can have. An EP study, a special kind of heart catheterization to check for arrhythmias, is usually not done in bradycardia patients. And if it is done, those patients are heart block patients, and not those whose heart rate is just a bit too slow.
A resting heart rate in the low 50's is perfectly fine, I would not even consider this borderline.

heart rate holter monitor

That's what I don't know. I bought one of those heart rate pulse watches, btw which is better or consitant or non-consistant watch?, my pulse after napping was 41. Then as soon as I get on with my activities, it goes up to anywhere from 46-58. I guess I will just have to wait and see with the monitor.

What would be the other kind of testing if the Holter monitor isn't totally reliable?

You need to follow through with all testing. Unfortunately the Holter Monitor is not a guarantee that your condition is stable. I had at least three of them that did not show up my true condition. Holter Monitors are just one type of testing, which is not always 100% trustworthy.

You know you're wired when...

You have the perfect reason to show off your chest.
