I don't know if it's even possible for a pm to move but I haas my first one put in June 30 and it sure seems like it's to the left towards my arm. Has anybody had this happen or maybe it's just my imagination?

Thanks for the reply Tat Man, at least I know it's not my imagination. It does some a little sore at times and annoying. I'm nowhere near being able to run or work out yet. I've been to cardiac rehab, but have several other heart problems. I am going to show my cardiologist at my Appt this month. I would hate to have. To have it done again. Can they ever just put it back where it goes with out having to remove it?
Yes

Marie12, I find myself doing the same thing, even bending over. It just doesn't feel very euchre. It also sticks out quite a bit but I just figures it was because I'm skinny- that's what the subs on said

My ICD moved quite a bit in the first six months. So much so that when my husband was driving on bumpy roads, I use to put my right hand over the ICD to keep it steady. Then it found a permanent home and has been pretty stable ever since. The pocket needs to heal around the unit. Have patience and soon it will be snug.
Pacemaker Migration

There's even a name for this. It's called "pacemaker migration." If it tries to make a break for it, as Tattoo Man said, it's called "pacemaker erosion." It's not common, but it can happen. I would see your doc.
I'm not skinny

just plump but my PM sticks out for sure. Sort of like a small third breast!
Rubbing

I may just have to have it checked. Today it feels like it's closer to the surface and rubbing on the skin when I move. It actually kind of hurts a bit
Traveling Pacemaker

Yup, there's a few of us having this problem. In the 22 years of implants both left & right chest , with 6 pacemakers I have only had my very first give me near 5 years before battery failure. Having site problems with movement & erosion along with infection has been a problem.
My original Cardiologist told me that my problems are primarily due to my skinny chest area & being overly active for my age. As I now have my implant in my lower abdomen right side under muscle a year ago. I had to have this done by a specialist at our University Hospital. I was given the bonus of no limitations on activities.
After going through years of pain & infection, treatment, I am most pleased to forget all the discomfort from the past. If any members are concerned with similar problems, I would like to share with them, Private message anytime !!

Pm moving and causing pain
by shal - 2014-09-27 05:09:55
Hi Don I would very much like to have more iNformation. I had my first pm implanted in 2006 under the pectoral muscle. It stayed there for 6 years ans then started migrating and came to the surface last year. Surgeon had to re-embedd last year. He has he dug it deeper and sowed in pocket but I am sure it has recently moved again. I have pain, stinging pain from time to time and i can feel the edge which digs into the skin.i am so worried about what options exist. I did. Not know lower abdomen was an option. Why was the collarbone not suitable for you. I am 49 with 2 kids so lead a hectic and active life but don't recollect doing anything that may have caused the pm to move again. Any suggestions on what I can do. I would be very grateful for a reply. Shalini

..........YUP.....they do, sometimes shift a bit...
and sometimes they make a break for freedom...
My one was captured before its exit....and a clever Surgeon got all my left side tackle out and gave me a brand new RH kit..well sutured in so my running is not compromised.
People who don't know PM stuff might find this a bit gross......for me,..its about being alive and running and getting everything out of every day
