My Mom had a pacemaker implanted several years ago. Don't know what it's called. She recently got a life alert system at home (partly against her will; we had to talk her into it) and has been wearing the necklace. She is now telling us that she can't breathe as freely when she is wearing it and feels better when she takes it off. Has anyone else had anything like this happen? I suspect she may be being manipulative since she wasn't really happy about it in the first place. I can't find anything that suggests that life alert could interfere with pacemakers and I am assuming that many others with pacemakers have life alert. HELP!

Try a bracelet

I can't imagine that this would interfere with her PM, but not totally sure. You could call her doctor and ask.
another option would be to put the alert device on a bracelet for her (one of those coiled key bracelets). My Mother lives in an Assisted Living Facility and has one of the alert devices. She prefers to wear her's on a bracelet.
Good luck, I know how hard it can be to insist that they do something!
