St Jude pm info

Is needed. I have an appt with a new cardiologist and would like some feedback on questions to ask. My current Cardiologist seems to make very little comment when I ask him different question about my pm. I have gone to him several years and always come away with wanting more answers. Had a new battery this past year put in and even the EP favors Medtronic and was not helpful when asked questions.. The new cardiologist does use St Jude. I know very little about this pacemaker except it will not let my heart rate go down pass 60. Have read about rate response and several other things when exercising I should be aware of. Have a small booklet with a few things listed from St Jude about what not to do. So it seems to me like buying a new law mower with gadgets and no manual as how different things work. Any feedback or giving me input on getting questions together when I go for this next appt.?
I do get winded easily and energy levels vacillate. Heart rhytmn accelerates but have not been diagnosed with any a-fib and EP did say he saw no sign of it? Would u see a sign? As I said would like input back. Thank you

1. call up the St. Jude people. They are helpful and may have the answers.

2.Have a list of your questions. Understanding how that PM works can relieve stress!

3. If you are not feeling well, keep looking for a cause. After they adjust settings it can take weeks to feel right. I even had them put it back after a new setting made me feel unwell. For me, messing about with settings is a real hassle and I avoid it.

I got a book called "Heart Rhythm Problems" by Dr Todd Cohen which helped explain a lot.
Its tough when you go in for a check and get new information, but don't process the questions until later and then feel stressed...so keep touch with this site, it helps so much.
Take care!

Thanks

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
