Observed Trials

Hello Everyone
Thanks for all the help and support.
Dose anyone compete in Motorcycle Observed Trials or know anyone who dose with a PM.
My Doc says no but it's hard to give up something you love so much.
Thanks
Dean

Dean, I don't ride trials but do frequently ride on rough terrain off-road and on my DR650 and on my dual-sport F650GS. Also, on-road. No problems in 1.5 years of doing so with my pacemaker. But, I haven't crashed yet, nor banged the implant location into anything. The jarring and vibration has not affected me at all, having a pacemaker. I think that if I took a hard, direct hit on my implant area that it would probably be extremely painful and may damage the pacemaker; but, that is a risk I'm more than willing to take (I wouldn't immediately die without a PM). I'm nearly 60 and have ridden motorcycles since I was 14- no way I'm giving up something I love to do.

I haven't had the opportunity to complete since the implantation, but I would without hesitation.

I was on a MC Drill Team for a number of years and am confident I could do it without any interference from my PM/ICD...

But as I age, I know I will never be as good as I once was (won a number of competitions) and was never as good as I thought I was....

Good luck, and please let us know how you do!

You know you're wired when...

You always have something close to your heart.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
