One Week Visit

Had PM for one week and went in for a check up. So glad I did. Was experiencing all of this anxiety issues and felt like I could not breath. Come to find out that they had me wired to tight. Feeling better like my old self. Didn't feel bad before, just fainted three times. But nonetheless, it is better. Now they say that I can come back in 6 months. That will be in December. Able to use left arm, but careful about extending it to wide or high. Is there a difference between the type of pacemakers used? I am going to see about being referred to another cardiologist on Monday when I talk to my pcp.

....'wired to tight'. What are you referring to?

Most PM models have similar basic functions, though the terminology may differ a bit. The biggest difference I've seen from info on this site is if you have Rate Response turned ON. You need this if you have issues with your sinus node. Some manufacturers use different sensors and algorithms.

Best is to get a copy of your PM interrogation report. It will have all your modes and settings in it. You can then ask questions on this site. There's lots of experienced people here.

I remember when my pacemaker was fitted and my arm and surrounding area was more painful than my open heart surgery I had the week before. Gradually however movement and the pain did get better. Hope this is of help,
