Went in hospital on June 18 due to fainting twice. About 1 hour from being released because tests seemed to come back ok after overnight stay. Fainted again hospita. And shortly after that doctors determined I needed to have PM. Surgery done next day on June 20 and came home on June 21. Still not sure why I have this thing, but told I needed it and would help with fainting spells. No more fainting spells, not needing to take much for pain, over the counter stuff. They did not send me home with anything. Being very cautious about lifting and moving arm. No arm sling or nothing. Said I didn't need it. Guess right. When a nurse friend made me one, arm hurt terribly. PM placed it on left side and I am left handed, Thought it was going to be on opposite side. Feel heart beating fast when I get up and notice blood pressure being slightly higher at that time or if I take pain meds. Guess if I wasn't having to deal with these eye floaters that happened from hitting my head twice I would feel somewhat better. I just so uncomfortable with this thing inside of me and it feels worse at night. Think if a surgery could have been performed, I would rather had that. Everything happened so quickly. 57 and sad.

Yeah there has been discussion about electrical conduction issues. He said it and I still do not understand it. Keep wondering how all of this relates if any to the open heart surgery I had 47 years ago.
Anyone having to take meds?
My blood pressure seems to become elevated whenever I lay down awakens me with the my heart pounding in my head.
Between this at night and eye floaters in the day life is truly different. Waiting for a miracle.

So sorry that you have had this sudden shock but, as you've figured out by now, many of us have had the same thing happen. I am a year younger than you and got my PM on Christmas Eve. It was a complete shock; I truly had no idea I was "sick."
Get ready for a battery of tests to make sure you don't have "plumbing issues" like blocked arteries. Your problems are probably electrical conduction issues and your doctor will explain it to you. You're smart to make a list and be on this site.
When I got my PM, I refused any online help for a the first couple of weeks. I somehow thought I was above that. How foolish was that??? Now I'm on here all the time learning by reading and trying to offer encouragement.
I, too, am a Christian and I should have heeded Proverbs 19:20! Give your body and your emotions time to adjust to these new changes. Keep walking and moving, too. We're all confident you'll do well in this new "stage" of life!

Yeah I have been making my list and checking it twice. I know the answers I want will not be nice. I keep my arm raised up on a pillow while laying on my back while I sleep. Seems to work out ok. Anyone started having crazy dreams after their pm was implanted.
I thought so too about these floaters. Going to see eye doctor in the afternoon.

Still not getting it. Tomorrow will be a better day.
