Implanted below my pectoral muscle. More pain than I expected.
Pacing 100% and nothing below 80 bpm.
Any suggestions?

Hi!
It's quite normal to experience pain three days after a subpectoral implant. It takes a while for the muscle to "forgive" the damage done during the surgery. Depending on the approach, the surgeon has cut into the muscle, and later stitched this cut up again; he has torn at the muscle; the pacemaker is now rubbing against the muscle (after a while the body will create a kind of capsule around the pacemaker). After my last two subpectoral placements, I was on a good amount of painkillers for at least 5-7 days, the first two or three days I even needed opiates.
Sounds like your base rate has been programmed at 80bpm. Might be a little too high, most people have it at 50-70, depending also on what their resting heart rate was before surgery. If you feel uncomfortable with a resting heart rate of 80, let your cardio know. It's easy to program it a little lower.
Hope you get better soon!
