Hm, guess people probably just didn't know how to comment on your poem. I mostly comment when questions need to be answered.
I have had 8 catheter ablations, the longest taking up to 10 hours. I have been asleep (sedation) for most of them. Being awake through a procedure like that is a bit tough, but nothing that cannot be managed, in my opinion. Can be pretty uncomfortable at times, for instance when they ablate, but with some painkillers it was ok. And if you have some nice doctors/nurses around you, staying awake isn't really that bad.
