My baby girl had ohs at 7 months old. After surgery she was in complete heart block. 2 weeks later she got her pacemaker. She's now 11 months old. We've had several checkups everything is fine with that. However the last few months she wakes up from a dead sleep screaming bloody murder. Her belly seems to have a slight twitch. Does anyone know if her pacemaker could cause this??? She's not rolling onto her belly so I know she's not waking up because its uncomfortable to her. Thanks to anyone that can help!

While your baby can not communicate just what is going in,this may be possibility. I have had my PM for about 4-5 weeks now. At night in particular my PM triggers slight spasms in the muscles of rib cage when I lay on my side in bed sometimes. Now they have played with the PM and cut back the power,so it is minor. But before that it gave me heavier and more of these these type of spasms. Of course your babies problems could be related to so many other things -- but good luck..

You know your baby best. You know her different cries, when she's hungry or is gassy or has a soiled diaper.
So go by your gut feeling Mom, especially if her belly has some twitches and she sounds like she is in distress....get her checked out.
It's a tough call but since you are her voice, you want to err on the side of caution.
I went by my gut feeling 24 years ago when my oldest was 3. I just knew something wasn't right. He wasn't himself even for being sick with a fever that day. So I took him to the Doctors instead of putting him to bed and it turned out he had bacterial meningitis. Thank God I did and he recovered fully after 10 days in the hospital.
