I'm in my second week of having a pace maker. When I don't have a bra on like at night and I get up my breast pulls down and causes pain. I would like to know how long this will last?

We all are built differently and heal at different rates. I slept in a sports bra for about 2 months after.
It Gets Better

I had the same problem, and I am not heavy in that area. I learned to fold my left arm across the chest just below the breasts when I got up at night. I was reminded that the whole area got lots of trauma during the procedure and was still swollen even though it didn't look that way. You could also wear a light sleep bra. For about a month I turned my bra back around to the front so I could reach the hooks, and then swiveled it around to the back again. Soon you won't even remember all this. All the business of having to put slip-over tops on with the right arm first so you don't reach too high with your left arm goes away by about the 6th week. Summer is on its way. Remember not to get the scar suntanned to prevent permanent darkness.

I too wore a sports bra for about two months.
I had two implanted cardiac monitors, so my pm surgery was the third slice in that area in only 4 years. I wore the bra to keep the scar from stretching, and to help with the "pulling" feeling.
And like flute tooter, I'm not overly large....
Feel your pain

I too am struggling with this myself. However wearing a bra causes discomfort as well . At night, I sleep propped in pillows with a travel pillow up against my chest. It seems to help minimize the discomfort. I also have soft ice packs surrounding g me :) during the day I wear a front clasped /razor back bra. It is much easier to get in and out of. As far as it rubbing on my incision, I place a medical abd pad under the strap to keep the pressure off- it seems to be doing the trick! Hope you find comfort soon

Two months also

I wore a soft bra (no underwire) at night for about two months. It was larger than I needed so it wasn't uncomfortable but provided enough support to stop the discomfort.
