scar from pacemaker implant

I'm healing ok but am curious... do other's here have a portion of their scar look like the skin was melted? Do the doctors do something when closing the incision to make it easier for them to find it 10 years down the road when the unit needs repacing?

Keloid Scar

Do you mean a keloid? Some of them can look like melted skin. Speak to your Doctor about it, some suggest using a cream or cocoa butter to massage it just like any other scar but make sure time has passed and your incision is completely healed.

A small part of mine was a keloid but it is flat with my skin now and is still more pink than the rest of the incision.

I had a lead revision 3 years ago and ever since then, my scar flares up at least 4 times per month. The Doctors are not concerned about it so I don't even bring it up anymore, I just monitor it.

It sounds like yours is new so time should make it better.
