Small electrical shocke from vacum cleaner

Yesterday I received a small electrical shock from a shop vac. I have a boston dual chamber pacemaker. Is this a problem with pacemakers? Thank you!

Outside not inside

Sparrow is correct. Probably static electricity. Static electricity travels on the outside of the body and not through the body. So no problems from the PM and no problems to the PM.

Oh, and I've gotten over the course of the last year with absolutely no problems to the PM.

Thank you

Thank you for your prompt replies to my question. Yes it turned out to be a bad wire. I checked the wires after the answers I received. I never do that but now know I need to. Was quite a jolt. I did notice that my pacemaker was not going over 60 bpm even when active and dropped to 57 bpm. Today it seems to be normal.

Might be static electricity

but I'd check the wiring on your vac and make sure it's good and the grounding is good.

Bad wiring or grounding is not good for anyone, with or without a PM.

You know you're wired when...

You can feel your fingers and toes again.
