So I had my medication (Sotalol) reduced to 40mg 2x per day, at 80 mg, I felt lethargic. I run and walk my dog. I have an ICD for a sustained vtach and have an abnormal EKG, with low R Wave Progression and diffuse inverted T waves. I remain undiagnosed, and docs believe it could have been viral.
Anyone in similar circumstances and do well on lower doses of meds or no meds at all?
Thanks

I, too, am extremely sensitive to meds and just posted msg about the failure of medical personnel to even look at what meds I'm taking. Given that this condition is noted on all my charts, do they even look at that? Thank goodness my new doctors are listening, usually, but was given lisinopril after my PC surgery and that caused havoc, putting me in the hospital where they wanted to keep me for another test. I had to make my wishes known - no way was I going to stay. I KNEW what the problem was and stopped the lisinopril immediately. Just a day later my new PCP (I had only seen her once before) took a good look at all my blood pressure readings and asked why in the heck they prescribed it in the first place. Thank you PCP! I will check with her from now on. Having been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis only 10 days after the PC surgery, I've met with more doctors than I care to count. But, I think I've got it under control. Note that I said I, not the doctors. They are helping, no question, but I have to be in charge. I know my body better than anyone so don't be intimidated. Do your research, listen to your body and you help make the decisions.

Sotalol Dosage

Hi, I have been on 80 mg twice a day to control Afib for a number of years & it's been doing the job except getting lethargic. This past year I reduced my dosage taking Sotalol 80mg in the morning & 40 mg evenings trying to stay within the 12 hour schedule. "Hush", Wife, retired Cardiac nurse suggestion!!
I would not suggest making changes without Dr's approval
