I had a ICD implanted 01/30/14. The fellow who did the operation an EP is not with my heart doctor that I used in the ER. I went to that doctor a week ago to have my clips removed and they gave me a EKG. Then said come back on 03/26/14 for my next appointment. I called them wednesday to make sure someone would be there to check my device. After waiting a bit they said yes that someone would be there. Meanwhile I get this letter today from the EP folks saying that I need to come in so as to check my device. The folks I am seeing now say they are just trying to take away from them. What the heck am I to do? I'm leaning toward calling the EP folks because thats the guy who did the operation. Thoughts please. PS the last few days have been fine (heart wise)

I was taken into the hospital in an emergency. Consequently the person who implanted my PM was not my cardio doctor. The hospital wanted to check my PM shortly after implant. So I went with them for the first checkout. I've since switched over to my EP and cardiologist for everything on my PM.
They are more concerned that everything is working correctly than getting more $'s from you.
I also filled out a form online with my PM company. Got the medical ID for the PM switched over to my cardiologist. Obviously my cardiologist knows more about my condition than the doctor during the emergency.
With heart disease, hospitals, and medical situations in general you sometimes have to be your own advocate. Sorry it has to be that way, but you have to watch out for yourself.
Hope everything continues to go well for you.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.

I had a different doctor place my pacemaker than my cardiologist. I did not follow up with the cardiology surgeon but with my cardiologist. no reason to see both. The device is in, the EP did his job now it is time for your cardiologist to follow you
