Hello I just recently had surgery last Tuesday, this is my second pacemaker the first was placed in my arm pit, it was causing me problem so they changed my pacemaker and it's site it's now under my collar bone. But now every once in a while I feel this tightening in my chest around my incision site it's weird it's not really painful just odd. Has anyone ever experienced this before?!
Thanks!

I have had the tight feeling after my PM was put in, to me it feels like scar tissue or something like that, it's like the area heals and then when you move a certain way it pulls or feels tight like its drawing up. I'm not sure is that is the best way to explain it.

I just had a pm installed (and a couple stents) after a heart attack right before Christmas. Mine feels tight too... hoping it goes away after the scar completly heals. i think i'll always know something is there though. After reading here about leads coming out i'm amazed i haven't had that happen yet... keep forgetting i'm hard wired now.
You know you're wired when...
You have a maintenance schedule just like your car.

It made a HUGE difference in my life. Once I got it, I was finally able to run, and ride my bike long distances.
mine was tight

Mine was "tight" too. Mostly from swelling. The other thing that affects the collar bone area is where the leads go into the vein.
You aren't accustomed to having sensations under the collar bone and the brain has a hard time interpreting the feelings in that area. Sometimes you'll get a "tight" feeling. I got both the "tight" feeling as well as pain going up into my jaw. Both sensations went away as the swelling went down and my brain got accustomed to the PM.
Hope your recovery continues to go well.
