Safety of induction cooking

New to site, anybody if it is safety to be around induction cooking units with a pace maker? Purchased a Nuway cooking unit from TV add did not give any warnings unit we received it at home. The booklet said if you have a pace maker stay at least 2 feet away. Any ideas?

I guess if the booklet says at least 2 feet, then just stand back and use 3 feet long utensils to cook. I guess.

But...

If you work and pay into a pension scheme..or work for yourself and buy-in in to an insurance scheme...this is what happens...

The kind of people that you , maybe don't like to know,..probably I would not like to know...

Get Clever with your cash...these people think only of results......that is a covert term for ...PROFIT.

Warnings about magnets are good news when it comes to massaging profit risks against loss...

Perhaps we could all look at the policies / philosophies of those investment houses in which we entrust our cash..

I would be the first to enjoy the benefiets of investments in Fair Trade......the fact is that most pensions are hooked into far muckier world where we , for the most, get down to the shop to buy stuff,.... courtesy of Oil ,... Fracking,..and Dodgy trade deals that need not be even be discussed.

Sunshine...there is a good bet that we have life-enhancing devices that have been the result of the risk taking investments by guys in suits putting good money in medical advancement, backing up the science...

Its a confusing scenario....we all need eachother..

We, so many of us,..live with the luxury of Cardiac Care.....

Just breath in, and think of all those around the globe,..who are ,....right now,....less fortunate..

I used an induction stove for 6 weeks a couple of years ago, in a rental, and had absolutely no issues at all - and I'm paced 100% of the time, with a reputation at my doctor's office for noticing any slight changes at all.

Snakes & things Electrical

Man, now THERE's a disparate pair going together.

BUT...Snakes & things Electrical are identical. Both categories have dangerous members to the set & both have extremely useful, benign members.

F'rinstance - there are Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes in the us that grow to 7-10 ft (2-3 Meters) & deliver enough venom in a bite to drop a large bison for good. Then for the denizens of OZ, there are Taipans & Browns, which, though not as big or deliver as much venom, have a venom that is perhaps even more potent, drop for drop. Then the Africans live among Mambas of two colors & Spitting Cobras, which rank right up there on the danger scale

Then each locale has its non-venomous varieties of creatures who need no belts to hold up their trousers. The problem is knowing the differences between & among all the varieties.

The same is true for things electrical (& magnetic). You have to know your way through the maze of devices & their potential for doing our PM/ICD's harm - & therein lies a tale! Just like for snakes, things electrical are not well understood or recognized by the average bear out there. That includes the cardio community.

Here in the USofA we have a venomous serpent called the Copperhead; it is a relatively minor danger to humans when bitten, but it still is a painful, scarring experience to the victim of its bite. There exists, also a watersnake that is perfectly harmless when it comes to venom - for it lacks any, whatsoever. It has the sad misfortune of essentially mimicking the Copperhead. Those who do not know the difference kill a lot of watersnakes of this variety & putting another Cpperhead notch in their virtual six-gun.

So the poor induction range top lives the life of the watersnake & is cursed & made taboo by a lot of Cardios to unknowing PM/ICD hosts.

Will we ever educate them - I doubt it.

I have previously asked the question on my induction stove top on this site. My pacemaker went in on the 23/01/2014
Have now bought a plain ceramic stovetop and am waiting for it to be installed.
I attempted to use the induction. Proceeded cautiously was not bending over the pans but standing as far back as the utensil would allow, on two occasions felt something in the chest. The third time it occurred my husband was wok stir frying on high and I was 2 feet away and again felt the sensation. Has only occurred on those occasions
My cooktop is the older generation and I love it dearly but I want peace of mind.

Read the book that came with your device. The book that came with my PM advised me not to use them, every device is different, so if it is not in your book call the company that made your device and ask them.
